Insurance-focused law firm BLM will halve its workforce in Leeds as part of a proposal to reduce its operations in the city.
The company plans to cut 21 of the 40 business support roles in Leeds after embarking on a “programme of business improvement” earlier this year,
Insider Media reported.
“We have made a proposal to change the nature of our operations in Leeds and create a lean, agile and focused hub in Leeds, thereby reducing our current office space,” the report quoted the law firm as saying in a statement.
The law firm also said it had established a “premises strategy group” to review its locations.
The law firm explained that it was intending to maintain as many staff as possible, and it was undergoing a consultation on the redundancies.
“It is clear to us that the workplace of the future does not necessarily reflect the workplace of today and that the growth of our business will be the result of the investment we make now,” BLM senior partner Mike Brown was quoted as saying by
Legal Business UK.
“It is with this continued investment that we are able to adapt and re-shape our business model to align ourselves to the risk and insurance world,” he added.
