Four people have been arrested in connection with the killing of Guy Hedger, a former marketing and brand director at Liverpool Victoria.
Hedger, 61, was shot in the early hours of Sunday after at least two burglars entered his home in Dorset. He was pronounced dead shortly after arriving at a hospital. Jewelries, including designer watches, were reportedly stolen from the house.
According to the Dorset police, three people from Bournemouth were arrested on Tuesday. A 41-year-old man was nabbed on suspicion of murder and aggravated burglary, while a 44-year-old man and a 40-year-old woman were arrested on suspicion of conspiracy to commit murder and conspiracy to commit aggravated burglary.
On Wednesday, a 40-year-old man from the Blandford area was arrested on suspicion of murder and aggravated burglary. He was caught after attending Bournemouth police station.
Authorities continue to investigate the incident, which they said may have been pre-planned.
“This was a truly horrific crime and our deepest sympathies go out to Guy’s family and friends,” detective chief inspector Sarah Derbyshire said in a news release.
In a statement released by the police, Hedger’s family said: “Guy was a caring and compassionate partner, son, brother and uncle who lived life to its full and enriched the lives of all those who knew him.
“We are devastated that Guy’s life has been cut short in this way. Guy will be sorely missed by family, friends and colleagues, but he will live in our hearts forever.”
