Former Gocompare CEO Jon Morrell has resurfaced at a rival firm just a couple of months after leaving the price comparison giant.
According to his LinkedIn page, Morrell is now the CEO of Vast Visibility, a technology company within the industry that manages insurance aggregator
theinsurers.co.uk.
Morrell started in his new role this September following his departure from Gocompare last June.
He served as Gocompare CEO for more than a year and has been in the industry for more than 30 years.
For almost four years, Morrell was also the deputy COO of Gocompare owner
Esure and the managing director of its brokerage unit.
“Jon Morrell has done a good job in our first year of full ownership, working with the team in Newport, the Esure management team and with the business partners of Gocompare.com to lay the foundations for further growth,” Esure Group chairman Peter Wood said in a previous statement.
“Jon Morrell leaves with our thanks for his work and we wish him well in his next role,” Wood added.
The former Gocompare boss was succeeded by previous
lastminute.com CEO Matthew Crummack, who vowed in an earlier statement to build on the “positive momentum that both Jon Morrell and Esure have achieved.”
The change of leadership at Gocompare came as Esure announced a strategic review of the business. Latest reports suggest Esure will this week unveil plans for a demerger of the price comparison unit.
