International broker Ed has announced the impending departure of group CFO Russell Benzies, who will be replaced by a new recruit from a rival firm.

Benzies is leaving the company after serving as its finance chief for more than seven years. He will be succeeded by Neil Perry, who will take up the role later this year.

Ed Group CEO Steve Hearn thanked Benzies for his contributions, saying “he has been a key part of the creation of Ed and the transformation journey we have undertaken.”

Meanwhile, Perry said joining Ed “presents a unique opportunity to take advantage of the changing environment for wholesale brokers on a global scale.”

Perry boasts 30 years of financial management experience with Ed. He joins from Willis Towers Watson, where he served as finance director for the retail, London market and reinsurance divisions for nearly a decade.

Perry was also a finance director at RSA’s Latin America division and head of financial planning and analysis. He also held senior positions at major companies including AXA.

Hearn called Perry a “highly respected and experienced financial professional” with an “exceptional” track record.

“He has extensive experience gained across every continent and his M&A and strategic planning expertise will be invaluable in achieving our ambitions,” Hearn said. “I look forward to working closely with him.”
