Major law firm DWF has strengthened its UK insurance team with the promotion of 10 senior executives and the appointment of a new partner.
Promoted to the role of director are occupational health and casualty specialist Caroline Sanders, catastrophic personal injury expert James Allen, professional indemnity specialist Jon Hyde and fraud team member Matt Lynch.
The company also announced six new associates, namely Alexandra Cartwright and Tom Mungovan (professional indemnity and commercial insurance), Carrie Pearson (fraud), Hannah Fitzgerald and Sarah Mir (catastrophic personal injury), and Reena Buggal (occupational health and casualty).
“Each individual we have promoted has displayed excellence in the quality of service they deliver to our insurance clients, their level of legal expertise and the positive impact they continue to have on their colleagues and the business,” said Paul Berry, head of insurance services at DWF.
The legal business has also hired Simon Gildener, who joins DWF’s professional indemnity and commercial insurance practice as a partner.
With over 20 years of experience in the London insurance market, Gildener has particular expertise in advising regulated financial services organisations, including wealth managers and insurance brokers.
Gildener has been involved in a number of high-profile cases, including McLaren Racing’s errors and omissions claim against Baker & McKenzie. He also advised three failed Icelandic banks following the global financial crisis.
“His appointment will enable us to enhance our service offering to financial institutions alongside in-depth sector knowledge for the benefit of both our insurance and financial services clients,” Berry said.
