One of the largest providers of legal expenses insurance has appointed a new managing director of insurance for both the UK and Ireland.

Henderson takes the role at DAS UK Group and will report to CEO Andrew Burke, who has strengthened his senior team in the last 12 months.
Henderson joins from Centrica, where he worked as trading director and interim group commercial director. He was responsible for the property and liability insurance business, including distribution, proposition development and fulfilment, marketing, underwriting and pricing.
He also spent eight years at financial firm Police Mutual as commercial, sales and marketing director and eight years at Standard Life as branch and regional sales manager.
Henderson is the latest addition to the company’s leadership team, which has been improved since Burke’s appointment 18 months ago.
As CEO, Burke said he has been focusing on transforming the business, improving governance and customer and partner propositions.
The insurer has invested heavily in external appointments while also promoting internal talent.
“I am delighted that we have got a new team in place ready to take the DAS UK Group on to the next step in its transformation,” Burke said.
“Recent political events have created uncertainty for all businesses and, while there may be challenges ahead, I know we are well-placed to face up to them,” he added.
