Covéa Insurance has appointed a new director of commercial underwriting with a prized recruit from insurance giant Allianz.
The latest appointee, Gavin Dollings, will lead the insurer’s commercial underwriting strategy and strengthen the proposition for brokers.
Covéa said Dollings will play an integral role in enhancing pricing and underwriting capabilities, broadening ties with broker partners and increasing the insurer’s footprint.
“I am really excited to be joining Covéa Insurance at this key stage in their journey towards becoming a market leading commercial and high net worth insurer,” Dollings said.
“I’m looking forward to working with the leadership team to help deliver these plans,” he added.
Dollings’ appointment completes Covéa’s commercial and high net worth leadership team.
“We are committed to the sustainable profitable growth of our commercial lines business and Gavin will play a key role in driving the underwriting strategy to support that,” said Simon Cooter, commercial lines and high net worth director.
“His knowledge of the market and the needs of our broker partners and customers will also ensure that we continue to develop compelling market leading products to support our ambitions,” Cooter also said.
Dollings spent the last 10 years at Allianz where he was regional manager for the South East. He also headed the company’s UK casualty and construction account.
In addition, he worked as a management consultant at
Accenture’s insurance practice. Dollings started his career at Commercial Union where he held various sales and underwriting management roles.
