A senior insurance executive with nearly three decades of industry experience has been appointed as the new CEO of insurer Countrywide Assured, its holding company recently announced.

Life and pensions consolidator Chesnara said its UK life assurance subsidiary, Countrywide Assured, will now be led by Ken Hogg, who joined the business in August.

Hogg has more than 28 years of experience in the life industry, having held various executive roles at insurers RGA, AIG and Aegon. His appointment has already received regulatory approval.

“With the appointment of Ken this completes the reorganisation that we envisaged at the time of my appointment with a CEO for each of our divisions in the UK, Sweden and the Netherlands,” said Chesnara CEO John Deane.

Chesnara also announced that business services director Frank Hughes will step down from the company board on December 31. He will remain in his current role until April 30, 2017 when he leaves the firm.

“I am immensely proud of what we have achieved at Chesnara in my time here. I am sure that the new structure will help to further build the organisation,” Hughes said.

“I will continue to support my colleagues after stepping down from the board to ensure a smooth transfer is completed,” he added.
