Health insurance giant Bupa has announced leadership changes in its businesses in the UK, Australia and New Zealand.
The major insurer has appointed David Hynam as the new managing director of Bupa UK, effective October 1. He is currently the general manager of the firm’s care services business.
Hynam will replace Richard Bowden, who has been appointed as managing director of Bupa’s Australia and New Zealand (ANZ) business.
Bowden has been given the post following the decision of current ANZ managing director Dean Holden to leave Bupa at the end of 2016.
“Dean has had a huge impact on the company, our people, partners and customers in nearly 30 years of outstanding service,” said Bupa CEO Evelyn Bourke.
“I will be really sorry to see him go and I very much appreciate the important role he has played on the Bupa Executive Team over the last 18 years,” she added.
As for the newly appointed executives, Bourke said she expects Hynam and Bowden to lead their business units to new heights.
“Richard is an outstanding leader with huge health sector experience and I look forward to him leading our ANZ business through its next phase,” Bourke said.
“David has a fantastic track record of leading large organisations and I know he will do an excellent job in his new role as managing director of Bupa in the UK.”
