Barbican Insurance Group has opened its new office in Manchester, located in the Hive complex of the city’s Northern Quarter.
The new office will serve three primary functions. First, it will be a regional base for the underwriting and business development activities of the group’s recently launched UK insurance business, Barbican Protect. Second, it will act as an administrative hub, housing functions such as finance, data entry, and credit control. Lastly, it will provide several support services for Barbican’s London-based underwriting arm.
David Reeves, Group CEO of Barbican Insurance Group, commented on the new office: “This is a significant milestone in the continuing development of Barbican. It provides us with a strategic base from which to further capitalise on the potential afforded by the UK regional market through Barbican Protect, while also significantly enhancing our administration and underwriting support capabilities across the group.”
Victoria Greffon, head of administration and facilities, added: “The Hive provides a fantastic location for Barbican. As a regional hub for Barbican Protect, its central location offers an ideal platform from which to facilitate the team’s expansion plans. From an administration and support perspective, it delivers the latest in technology and connectivity to meet our service demands. Further, we have the potential to expand our team in this location as the business grows.”
Opened in 2010, the Hive is situated within the only ‘Grade A’ office building in the Northern Quarter, and is 10 minutes away by foot from Manchester Piccadilly train station. The complex also boasts noteworthy sustainability credentials, with a BREEAM ‘Excellent’ certificate that denotes a high level of efficiency, building design and sustainability.
