In a double change, multinational insurance provider AXA has announced that Paul Evans, current chief executive of AXA UK & Ireland, will be part of the AXA Group Management Committee, with global responsibility for the Group’s Life, Savings and Health operations; while Amanda Blanc will take over as CEO of AXA UK & Ireland. Both appointments will be effective on July 1, 2016.

Evans served as CEO of AXA UK and Ireland from 2010 and oversaw the business as it made a significant turnaround in which it achieved each of its commitments in the AXA Group’s ‘Ambition AXA’ five year strategy and delivered five consecutive years of double-digit earnings growth.

As a member of the AXA Group Management Committee and chief executive officer of Global Life & Savings and Global Health, Evans will be in charge of directing and implementing the Group’s strategy for both lines of business, with direct responsibility for AXA’s global operations in these markets.

The moves are part of a wider strategy by the AXA Group, in support of Thomas Buberl, incoming AXA Group CEO, as he takes the helm of the Group and leads the strategy and management of its global operations.
