AXA Insurance has named two new regional managers as part of the company’s push into the schemes space.

Michelle McTeer will be based in AXA’s Leeds schemes hub as the north regional schemes manager, and Brendan Clark will act as south regional schemes manager from the branches in Reading, Ipswich and London.

McTeer and Clark will be responsible for scheme growth and development. They will take up their new positions with immediate effect.

“Schemes business plays a vital role in the future of our commercial arm - our aim is to use our expertise from the wider business to find areas of untapped potential,” said Brendan McCafferty, Intermediated & Direct CEO, AXA Insurance.

“Michelle and Brendan are the perfect people to drive our new proposition forward and I’m excited about the exciting new schemes opportunities their appointments will bring.”

Clark joined AXA in January 2013 as operations manager for Reading and Maidstone and was most recently schemes development manager for the two hubs. McTeer has been with AXA for more than 10 years and was operations manager for the Leeds branch before taking up her new role.

The appointments of McTeer and Clark are the first in a series of new hires in the AXA schemes team. Alongside pushing into the schemes space, the insurer has created AXA Growth Labs, where brokers will be offered consultancy time with in-house agency Ignition to help them develop ideas, as well as dedicated schemes teams who will be tasked with investigating potential leads.
