Asta, a Lloyd’s third-party MGA, has appointed Clare Barley to chief risk officer (CRO) and Matthew Lane to chief information officer (CIO). Barley will report to CEO Julian Tighe, while Lane will report to COO Lorraine Harfitt.
Both appointments are internal promotions, with Barley promoted from deputy CRO and Lane from head of business intelligence.
Prior to joining Asta, Barley was an actuarial consultant at Lane Clarke and Peacock, providing actuarial advice on a range of general insurance issues, having previously qualified with
Mercer. She is also a fellow of the Institute and Faculty of Actuaries. Meanwhile, Lane, a physicist by education, has held senior systems roles at Xchanging, Ace and
Tokio Marine Group. Before transferring to Asta, he worked on the Solvency II programme at Lloyd’s.
