Aspen Insurance has appointed Advent executive Erik Armellino as international head of onshore energy and construction.
In his new role, Armellino will lead the expansion of Aspen International’s onshore energy and construction lines of business.
He will be reporting to Ann Haugh, Aspen Insurance COO and Aspen International president.
"This appointment expands further our international insurance product offering and we are delighted that Erik is joining Aspen Insurance at this exciting time for our business,” Haugh said.
Armellino has over 20 years of experience managing a broad range of energy and construction insurance products.
He most recently served at Advent as head of underwriting operations and head of property direct and facultative.
Before joining Advent, he also worked at Liberty International as global head of heavy industries and the deputy regional manager for the energy and construction segments.
Armellino started his career as a risk engineer for Factory Mutual Group and later held underwriting leadership positions at
AIG in London.
