Major international insurer
Allianz has appointed Matthias Wuensche as global market management and innovation director of its B2B2C specialist insurance arm.
In his new role at Allianz Worldwide Partners, Wuensche will head up the function that monitors and researches markets around the world, with the aim of generating and implementing new ideas that challenge established business models in the industry.
Wuensche will set up and develop global innovation centres to create, test and realise new products, services and business processes.
The newly appointed executive said his main goal is to ensure that Allianz Worldwide Partners stays ahead of its competitors by identifying strategic growth initiatives.
“My main goal is to ensure that Allianz Worldwide Partners stays one step ahead of our competitors by identifying strategic growth initiatives,” Wuensche said.
“We must aim to proactively drive disruption instead of being disrupted,” he added. “This will involve coming up with solutions that challenge existing business models.”
Wuensche believes that Allianz will “certainly change established approaches” with the future launch of new digital products and services.
“Furthermore, we will roll out easily scalable and successful pilots globally, ahead of our competitors,” he said.
In addition to his new role, Wuensche will also continue to be a member of the board of management at Allianz Global Automotive.
Wuensche has held several senior positions at Allianz, which he joined in 2011. Prior to that, he worked for many years in consulting, advising international clients on strategy, mergers and acquisitions, business turnaround, sales and marketing projects.
