Industry heavyweight Allianz has proposed some changes to its claims and corporate partner operations in the UK, which are expected to affect around 150 jobs.
Allianz UK is planning to consolidate its customer accidental damage motor claims into one site at the Birmingham claims handling centre, transferring work from the Bristol claims office.
The insurer is moving to a new model for motor engineer operations, with changes to responsibilities and consolidation within its supply and experts team.
Allianz’s commercial property claims unit is also relocating from Birmingham to Milton Keynes, with the staff being redeployed to work on motor claims.

In its corporate partner division, Allianz is transferring the administration and process of two products from its Bristol office to the Allianz Business Services unit in Lancaster.
Commenting on the proposed changes, Allianz chief claims officer Graham Gibson said that “change has become the norm, even for a business as stable as Allianz.”
“We need to be forward-thinking with our approach to make sure that our claims and corporate partner operations and the functions that support them are the right size and shape to meet the future needs of our customers,” Gibson said.
Gibson revealed that Allianz has entered into a consultation process with Unite the Union to find ways to “minimise the impact on the workforce which could result in approximately 150 roles being put at risk.”
