In 2016, the insurer experienced what Regan called “an unacceptable increase” in attritional claims, with the New South Wales CTP scheme, increased claims in trade credit, and premium pricing pressures all making an impact.
In its last set of results, the insurer announced a 340 basis point improvement in its attritional claims ratio, as the business looks to make $200 million of claims savings by 2018.
The insurer also announced that Andrew Corbett would become general manager of Elders Insurance, an Australian branch of the business.
Both roles are effective immediately.
