Young Kiwi insurance professionals, who are direct employees of a member of the Insurance Council of New Zealand, now have the chance to develop more of their leadership skills while representing the country in an international industry event.
The Australian and New Zealand Institute of Insurance and Finance (
ANZIIF) and the Insurance Council of New Zealand (
ICNZ) has opened the applications for the 2017
ICNZ and
ANZIIF Scholarship, which was created to provide support in helping young insurance professionals in achieving their goals.
For a chance to win the scholarship, applicants are called to submit a 2,500 word essay on a question on technology and regulation changing the competitive landscape and leading insurers and brokers to evaluate their business strategy at a fundamental level.
The scholarship winner gets a prize of $10,000 to attend an international industry event, leadership conference or seminar program.
“We are delighted to offer this opportunity to a member of the New Zealand insurance community, ICNZ chief executive
Tim Grafton said. “This scholarship will not only give the winner new skills and knowledge to help them to develop their leadership abilities, it will also enhance their understanding of the industry in a global context, and allow them to represent New Zealand among their international counterparts.”
Prue Willsford, ANZIIF chief executive office, said that in today’s global market, it’s important for the next generation of insurance leaders to be given the opportunity to grow and develop their leadership skills, international business networks, and industry knowledge.
Applications close at 5 pm (NZST) on Oct.30. The winner will be announced in late 2017.
