Markel International has announced the expansion of its Canadian operations by appointing two executives.

Adam Dobko was named assistant vice president and product line leader, casualty. In this role, Dobko “will have responsibility for the integrity of the casualty product line through cross-regional partnership, and will develop the annual product line strategy,” a release said. He has 15 years of commercial underwriting experience in a number of progressive underwriting management positions.

Meanwhile, Emily Horsman joins Markel as assistant vice president, programs. Through her new role, Horsman will oversee and service the company’s current cover holder agreements. She will also be tasked with “generating further business development in the program space.” She has 15 years of experience in property and casualty broking and underwriting and holds CRM and FCIP professional insurance designations.
