Global brokerage HUB International has continued its Canadian acquisition campaign with the announcement yesterday that it had snapped up Saskatchewan-based Delisle Agencies.

Delisle specialises in personal lines and government automotive insurance solutions. Terms of the acquisition were not disclosed.

Rob Ouellette, Delisle president, will now report to Doug Trapp, vice president of HUB Manitoba, in the new corporate structure. Trapp said Delisle appealed to HUB both in terms of its business and its location. The acquisition will strengthen HUB’s reach in the area.

“Delisle Agencies is a progressive and experienced brokerage located in a rapidly growing area of Central Saskatchewan,” he said. “Delisle Agencies is a great fit with HUB’s growth plans for Saskatchewan adding to our current 16 locations. The great service provided by the team from Delisle Agencies aligns perfectly with our culture at HUB International.”

The move followed the purchase last week of Integro Canada. The acquisitions are a concerted effort to gain more traction for HUB in the Canadian market, Tina Osen, president of HUB Canada, told Insurance Business.

“HUB has always been focused on growth, particularly in Canada and the US, and will continue to be open to future complementary and well-matched acquisitions,” she explained. “Our plan is to continue to grow on both sides of the border.

“HUB’s value proposition is to bring global resources to the local market via HUB’s regional brokerage offices. We grow organically and through M&A with best-in-class firms.”

With offices in British Columbia, Ontario and Quebec, Integro Canada is “a top-tier commercial property and casualty brokerage specializing in complex risks, including construction, transportation, professional services, manufacturing, real estate, entertainment, mining and financial services,” HUB said in a release.
