XL Catlin has announced that it has appointed Rajiv Joshi as construction manager for Canada.
Joshi will be based in Toronto, where he will lead the development and growth of XL Catlin’s construction business in Canada.
“Rajiv is an experienced leader and an excellent addition to our construction team,” said XL Catlin senior vice-president and profit center head of excess casualty construction Ed Totten. “He brings a wealth of experience in the insurance and constructions industries which will further strengthen our capabilities to develop and execute our local and international growth strategies.”

Joshi has 15 years of experience in the insurance and construction industries. Most recently, he was vice-president of construction for
Zurich’s Canadian operations. He was previously the leader of RSA’s construction team in Ontario and he also holds a number of international professional designations such as Fellow Chartered Insurance Professional (FCIP) and Canadian Risk Management (CRM) from Canada, Associate, Chartered Insurance Institute (ACII) from the UK and Fellow, Insurance Institute of India (FIII). Joshi is additionally an instructor at the Insurance Institute of Canada.
XL Catlin’s construction and design team provides a suite of specialized coverages for architects, contractors, engineers, and surveyors. The team also creates bespoke Excess Umbrella coverage for multinational construction firms.
