Canadian owned and operated insurance brokerage and consulting operation Cowan Insurance Group has demonstrated its consistency with the announcement this week that it had been awarded Gold Standard status as one of Canada’s Best Managed Companies in 2015.
Cowan has been selected over hundreds of applicants as one of Canada’s Best Managed Companies for four consecutive years, having first achieved the designation in 2012. A company achieves Gold Standard status, after three consecutive years of maintaining their Best Managed status and demonstrating their commitment to the program.
It’s the fourth year in a row that Cowan has been recognized by the business award program reserved for Canadian-owned and managed companies with revenues over $10 million and the second such honour in a matter of months for the brokerage, which was also recently recognized as one of Canada’s 10 Most Admired Corporate Cultures by Waterstone Human Capital.
“We are extremely honoured to have earned Gold Standard status, a prestigious distinction for business excellence based on our commitment and outstanding execution of our strategic priorities,” said Heather McLachlin, President, Cowan Insurance Group. “This award is not an individual honour. It recognizes the efforts of our entire organization, from our front line employees to our executive team. Every day I see our values at work through the innovation, collaboration, commitment, and integrity our employees bring to both Cowan and our clients. Together, these values and our behaviour drive results.”
“Best Managed companies embrace innovation, seize opportunities and inspire talent. They really set the bar high,” said Peter Brown, Partner, Deloitte and Co-Leader, Canada’s Best Managed Companies program.
