Queensland-based RACQ launched a new product for motoring enthusiasts at a Brisbane car show on Monday.
RACQ CEO Insurance John Myler said the new product, called Enthusiast Car and Motorcycle Insurance, is a “perfect fit” for the motoring club and mutual organisation.
“As a motoring club we understand that a car to many people is a lot more than just a mode of transport,” Myler said. “For some, like me, our car reflects who we are; it’s our pride and joy, and we want to make sure it has the best protection available.”

The RACQ boss said the new product, which will be underwritten by enthusiast insurance specialists Famous, will provide personalised, expert cover for classic, veteran, vintage, prestige, high performance and modified cars, as well as a range of enthusiast motorbikes.
“This cover will offer members a genuine enthusiast experience from their very first contact with us and especially should they need to make a claim,” he said.
Speaking about their partnership with Famous, Myler said: “Famous has been offering a superior product to this market since 2014 and we are excited to have them on board.”
