NIBA has named the first state winners of its broker and young broker of the year awards.
The Victorian and Tasmanian winner of each award was announced at a gala lunch held in Melbourne last week.
John Farrell, of
Steadfast Taswide Insurance Brokers, took out the broker of the year award while Adam Ware, of
BJS Insurance Brokers (Gippsland), claimed the young professional broker of the year title.
Both will now be entered into the national award to be announced at the NIBA Convention in September.
“We had a significant number of applications this year, and the finalists represent the cream of the crop,” NIBA CEO,
Dallas Booth, said. “We wish John and Adam the best of luck in the national awards, and we congratulate all the finalists who exemplify the highest standards of professionalism and competence in the broking industry.”
Farrell beat out competition from Hayden Armstrong of Armstrong Insurance Brokers, while Ware took home the award ahead of Ben Robinson, AJG, and Ben Gair of Australian General Insurance Services.
So far, it has been a good year for Farrell who was also nominated for the Valerie Baker Memorial Award, narrowly losing out to Karen Hardy of Acme Insurance Brokers.
