Insurance brokers attending 2017
NIBA Convention on Sept. 10-12 at the Sydney International Convention Centre will get the chance to bring home $5,000 in gold bullion or a return trip to San Francisco.
The prizes come courtesy of the Underwriting Agencies Council (
UAC) and Lloyd's, who will award the gold bullion prize to a lucky broker who obtains stamps or signatures from at least 25 of the 39 participating
UAC members in the
UAC-Lloyd's Village.
The winner will be selected by a random draw of all eligible entries.
The winner will then get the opportunity to win an alternative prize of a return trip to San Francisco, valued at more than $10,000, in a second draw, where the broker (or a Lloyd's nominee if the winner cannot be present at the draw) has to pick the winning number between one and 25 to get the prize.
If the broker wins the second draw, he will receive the San Francisco trip as prize in place of the gold bullion. If he doesn't win the trip, he gets to keep the gold bullion.
If the alternative prize is won, another draw will be held so another eligible broker could receive the gold bullion prize.
The draw will be held on Sept. 12 during the afternoon tea break. Full terms and conditions for the draws will be included in the UAC-Lloyd’s Village passport entry form available to brokers.

William Legge said the UAC-Lloyd's Village was a highlight of the exhibition hall at the NIBA Convention.
“This year, NIBA has provided free entry to the exhibition hall for NIBA members who are not registered delegates,” he said. “Given they have the opportunity to win $5,000 of gold bullion and, potentially, a chance to win a return trip to San Francisco, I expect a lot of brokers will head to Sydney’s new International Convention Centre.”

Beazley Underwriting has underwritten the San Francisco prize’s value if it is won. An independent auditor will oversee the lucky number draw.
