JLT has confirmed the appointment of a new CEO for Australia and New Zealand, naming current exec Nick Harris as the latest regional leader.
“Nick Harris has played a key role in many of the developments that have fostered the success of the business during the past seven years, and I would like to wish him every success in his new position,” said Dominic Burke, CEO of JLT Group.
Currently deputy CEO and CEO specialty, Harris first joined JLT in 2008 and was originally located in the firm’s London office. He brings over 20 years’ experience across both insurance and broking and is set to become CEO of ANZ from 1 January 2018.
“I’m honoured to be leading a strong and thriving enterprise with a laser, client-first focus,” Harris said following the announcement. “I look forward to working closely with our clients and the community to successfully meet their needs and expectations.”
Outgoing CEO
Leo Demer will remain with JLT as a senior adviser to group CEO Dominic Burke, as well as assuming the role of executive chairman of public sector, which was previously held by industry veteran Stephen Penfold.
Penfold, having served 23 years at JLT, is set to retire early next year.
“As part of our senior management succession plan, it is with great confidence I pass the baton over to Nick Harris, who has repeatedly proven himself to be an outstanding leader over the past seven years with JLT Australia & New Zealand,” said Demer.
