A digital product and innovation leader has jumped ship from News Corp Australia to head
IAG’s digital strategy and experience team.
Mark Drasutis will take on the challenge as IAG’s chief digital officer (CDO) in mid-October this year, and will be reporting to chief customer officer Julie Batch.
The appointment will see Drasutis play a key leadership role within the insurer’s Customer Labs to help the company and its brands, including
NRMA Insurance,
CGU,
SGIO,
SGIC, and
WFI in Australia, as well as NZI and AMI in New Zealand, become customer-led and data-driven.
Drasutis brings to the role over 20 years of media and digital product experience, most recently as chief product officer at News Corp Australia, where he led the digital product, platform, UXD, audience insights, and innovation teams. Prior to that, he was head of innovation, in charge of transforming the company’s digital and innovation strategy and culture.
Before he joined News Corp Australia, he worked at Yahoo! Europe, Middle East, and Africa, where he leveraged data and customer insights to inform strategic business decisions for delivering experiences across a wide range of markets and platforms.
“Mark is an innovator, consumer product expert, and strategic visionary who cares deeply about building high-performing teams, working in agile environments, and focusing on the needs of customers,” Batch said.
“Under Mark’s guidance, we can accelerate our focus on driving IAG forward to become a leader in digitally-enabled customer experiences.”
The new CDO noted that “digital is now central to insurance services and sets new levels of customer expectations for IAG and its brands to make peoples’ lives safer,” as he expressed his excitement over his new task of helping “set the course for customer-focused growth across all the IAG brands.”
