Gilchrist Connell has announced that it has expanded its senior ranks in both New South Wales and South Australia.
The insurance specialist firm has added two senior associates to its Sydney office with a new associate also starting in the Adelaide branch.
Malcolm Wood and Chetan Shukla join the Sydney office of the firm, having both previously worked for international law firm Clyde & Co. Zoe Dempster, meanwhile, joins the firm in Adelaide having previously worked for Tindall Gask Bentley.

Wood and Shukla bring expertise in financial institutions, directors’ and officers’ liability and professional indemnity to the firm having worked both domestically and for London-based underwriters. Shukla also has experience in the cyber and IT insurance market, having acted for large IT companies in major actions and provided policy interpretation on cyber and IT policies.
Dempster has worked in claims defence and represented plaintiffs in a range of compensation claims.
“As we continue to expand, these talented new recruits will help us maintain high levels of service delivery across key practice areas,” managing principal, Richard Wood said.
