Claims services provider
Gallagher Bassett (GB) has appointed John McNamara as the executive general manager (EGM) of its self insurance division as of August 2016.
This is an expansion of McNamara’s current role, which includes responsibility for GB’s statutory workers’ compensation operations.
McNamara has over 26 years of insurance experience, holding a range of senior national management positions. He has been with GB since 2012, and has been the EGM responsible for the firm’s Victorian and South Australian workers compensation operations for four years.
McNamara also brings into his new role substantial expertise in managing the challenges faced by large self-insured employers, including the increasing rate of mental injury claims and the impact of the ageing workforce on workplace health and safety.
“I’m really excited about working with GB’s self insurance team,” said McNamara. “I look forward to working with the team to continue to develop and grow our expertise together with working with our clients to introduce strategies that will support their needs.”
