Chubb has announced the appointment of industry veteran Alexander Wells as regional manager for the Northeast and Mid-Atlantic regions of its commercial insurance division in North America. In his new role, Wells will execute the underwriting and sales strategies of the business unit and manage staff, production, profit and loss, and distribution and management.
“Alex has been instrumental in the success and continued growth of Chubb’s Specialty Casualty & Construction,” said Scott Gunter, senior vice president of Chubb Group and Chubb’s division president of North America commercial insurance. “I’m confident that his deep knowledge and leadership skills will complement Chubb’s strong underwriting team in the regions.”

Wells has more than 25 years of industry experience. Before taking on his new role, Wells served as the North American manager of Chubb’s Specialty Casualty & Construction Unit. He’s also served as the CEO of the ACE Westchester Specialty Casualty Division.
Wells succeeds Jerry Updike, who was recently named the company’s chief operating officer for North America Field Operations.
