Allianz has announced a new managing director for their business in Australia.
Richard Feledy will step into the role from 1 January 2018 following a thorough recruitment process, the insurer said in a statement.
Feledy will replace Niran Peiris, who was appointed to the board of management of the global Allianz Group earlier this year.
“Richard’s experience, across all aspects of insurance and leadership qualities, made him a great fit for the position,” John Curtis, Allianz Australia chairman said.
“He is the right person to lead Allianz into the future.”
Feledy has served as part of the leadership team at Allianz for seven years as chief technical officer.
Before he takes on the role of MD, Feledy will move into the newly created role of deputy MD.
Feledy has 30 years’ experience in the insurance industry, half of which he has spent with Allianz in a range of areas including distribution, relationship management, pricing and product.
