Multi-line international insurer PartnerRe has appointed Jerome Matrundola as CEO for life and health in the Asia-Pacific region, effective September 11, 2017.
Matrundola will be in charge of growing PartnerRe’s footprint in the life and health reinsurance market in Asia-Pacific. He will coordinate with the company’s teams in Singapore and
Zurich to develop reinsurance solutions geared towards the needs of clients in the region.
He will be based in Hong Kong and report to Marc Archambault, CEO for life and health and group executive committee member, who commented: “We believe in the strong growth potential of the insurance market in Asia Pacific now and in the future.
“PartnerRe’s unique position as a global, privately owned, pure-play reinsurer, combined with our local presence and market knowledge means we are well positioned to support the advancement of insurance in the region. This new position further enhances our ability to respond to the needs of our clients in Asia Pacific.”
Matrundola joins PartnerRe from
SCOR, where he was also based in Hong Kong as head of North Asia and regional partnerships and part of the Asia-Pacific senior management team. With 14 years’ experience in the reinsurance industry, he has held various roles, including strategy, business, and market development in Europe and Asia-Pacific. He is a Fellow of the Society of Actuaries and a Fellow of the Canadian Institute of Actuaries.
