P&C insurance powerhouse
Chubb has made two new appointments to its Asia-Pacific cyber insurance team.
Andrew Taylor was named cyber underwriting manager for Asia-Pacific, while John DePeters was appointed as cyber underwriter for Asia-Pacific.
Taylor is responsible for growing Chubb’s cyber insurance business, including guidelines, ratings, and portfolio management. Based in Sydney, he leads efforts to create new solutions to help the insurer’s clients manage their cyber risks. He joined Chubb in 2009 as part of the information and technology team and with over 20 years’ industry experience, he was one of regions first cyber insurance specialists.
Meanwhile, DePeters supports Taylor in growing the cyber insurance business, especially in the aspects of underwriting, marketing, training, product development, and vendor expansion, across the region. As part of his duties for the new position, he has relocated from San Francisco to Singapore. Prior to the appointment, DePeters was an executive underwriter for Chubb North America’s financial lines division, specifically for the US Pacific Northwest, including Silicon Valley. He is a graduate of the Chubb Associate Program and began his career with Chubb.
Both Taylor and DePeters report to Stanley Wong, head of financial lines for Asia Pacific, who commented on the appointments, saying: “We saw the need to further invest in and hire specialist resources to drive the development of this business portfolio, underscoring our commitment to cyber protection in the region. The breadth and depth of Andrew and John’s expertise in this field will serve us well as we continue to strengthen our capabilities to craft solutions that mitigate a broad spectrum of cyber risks across Asia Pacific.”
