Swiss Re Corporate solutions has appointed Jonathan Rake as its chief executive officer for the Asia-Pacific region, effective July 01, 2017. He will be based in Singapore.
Rake succeeds Fred Kleiterp, who was appointed CEO for Europe, Middle East, and Africa (EMEA) and will relocate to
Zurich.
Before assuming the role of Asia-Pacific head, Rake had been head of Southeast Asian operations since September 2016, managing the company’s growth in the region. He oversaw the establishment of Swiss Re’s Kuala Lumpur office, which opened in March. His tenure saw the extension of the company’s reach in Malaysia, providing access to innovative solutions and services. Prior to that, he also held various positions in Europe, Hong Kong, and Singapore.
As Asia-Pacific CEO, Rake will continue to implement Swiss Re’s expansion plans in the region. He will continue with his current responsibilities for Southeast Asia until a replacement is named, according to the company.
Swiss Re Corporate Solutions’ Asia-Pacific operations span offices in Beijing, Brisbane, Hong Kong, Kuala Lumpur, Melbourne, Osaka, Shanghai, Singapore, Sydney, and Tokyo.
