It’s time for a change at
Allianz Insurance, with the company reviewing its technical claims structure and promoting two members of its team.
Mark Merrix will take on the role of head of casualty claims having led the Allianz disease and run-off operation for the last eight years. More recently he held the role of claims fraud manager and was responsible for all lines of business giving him the ideal preparation for his new position in which he will lead development of technical claims strategy across all casualty and disease claims. In addition, he will also manage the rehabilitation team.
In light of Merrix’s appointment, there is a new role too for Nick Kelsall who becomes fraud manager at the firm. He will manage the company’s head office fraud operation as well as examining the performance of the claims validation teams and fraud units across the UK and India.
Kelsall has been with the firm since 2015, and, with Merrix’s appointment also representing a promotion, Allianz’s head of claims, technical Lee Watts commented that Allianz has a “strong focus on developing talent.”
“Mark has transformed the shape and direction of the fraud team and leaves them in a great shape and I have every confidence that he will do the same in his new position,” he said.
“Nick brings to the role a huge amount of innovation along with digital expertise, both of which are essential ingredients in developing our future focussed claims offering.”
