AIG has announced a new head of its operations in Singapore following the departure of Matt Harris.
Claudia Salem has been appointed CEO of the business in Singapore and head of country operations, Southeast Asia, which includes Malaysia, Thailand, Indonesia, Vietnam, the Philippines and Guam.
Harris has left the business to pursue other opportunities, AIG said in a statement.
Salem joined AIG in 2003 and has served in several global leadership positions. She was most recently global head of shared services, based in Kuala Lumpur, and led a strategic and organisational transformation project.
In her new role, Salem will report to Gaurav D. Garg, president and CEO of personal insurance.
Garg thanked Harris for his service to AIG, and stressed that Salem is the right person to help the firm continue its growth.
“Claudia is a great addition to the leadership team as we progress on our strategic growth in Singapore and key markets in Southeast Asia,” Garg said.
