Allianz Global Corporate & Specialty SE (AGCS) has appointed Emy Donavan as its global head of cyber, effective March 31, 2017. She will succeed Nigel Pearson, who left the company to pursue other opportunities.
Commenting on the departure and appointment, Poncin said: “I would like to thank Nigel Pearson for establishing our global cyber practice in the past three years and wish him the best for his future. Emy Donavan will be an excellent successor. Her profound cyber underwriting experience in the mature US market and proven management track record will help us to further expand our footprint in the dynamic global cyber insurance market.”
Currently, Donavan is regional head of cyber for AGCS North America. Upon the start of her new appointment, her regional role will not be replaced. Instead, Jenny Soubra and Terri Mason will continue with their roles as country heads for cyber in the US and Canada, respectively.
Prior to joining Allianz in December 2015, Donavan was vice president of underwriting at AXIS Pro, specializing in cyber and tech matters. She has also worked for
Zurich North America and ACE Group, where she began her insurance career.
